The Simnasho Tribal Market is open today 10am – 2pm by the Simnasho Longhouse. Tribal Vendors are welcome and visitors are encouraged. You can contact Howie Patt or Delson Suppah to learn more.
A local Rise Up- Sing Out event will take place today from 3-5pm at Sahalee Park in Madras. Everyone is welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy the music and speakers. There will be a rally at the North Y following the picnic from 5-7.
The Warm Springs Boys & Girls Club summer program starts tomorrow (Jun 15) and it will run weekdays 8-5. No meals will be provided in June. Youth must bring their own breakfast & lunch. The 509J Summer Meals Program will start on July 6th. The club will be closed on June 19th for the Juneteenth Holiday.
The Sacred Road Summer Program for kids in kindergarten through 6th grade is happening this week behind the Warm Springs Community Center. It’s from 3-5pm Monday through Friday and includes games, crafts, snacks and bible story. No registration is necessary, kids can just show up. They will have the program every other week through the end of July.
Warm Springs Diabetes Prevention invites youth to participate in its Strong Youth Wellness & Fitness Program. Starting June 16th, every Tuesday & Wednesday they will have fun daily workouts & games, team challenges & competitions, nutrition & health education and more. 3rd-5th grade youth will be from 1-3pm and grades 6-8 from 3:30-5:30. Warm Springs Community Health’s mobile medical clinics can help folks with medical problems, medications, STI tests and immunizations. There is a clinic Tuesday, June 16 from 10am-3pm at the Simnasho Fire Station; Wednesday, June 24 from 9am-3pm at the Pi-Ume-Sha Health Fair at the Community Center; Tuesday, June 30 from 9-11:30am at the Shelter dining hall.
The first Thursday Market of the summer is coming up this Thursday from 10:30am – 2pm at the Campus Pavillion. Vendors are welcome to come set up. It’s first come, first service for available tables and chairs. Many of our local bead & craft artisans will be set up along with programs like the IHS pharmacy, OHSU & Head Start. The High Desert Food and Farm Alliance will have 30 free fresh harvest kits for folks. At the first market the Rooper Rand from Redmond will be selling produce and the Jefferson County Library will have free books. OSU Extension is looking for input from local gatherers to help co-create a huckleberry habitat management workshop for the Tribes this fall. They would like your help guiding the format and topics for the workshop. There is Tai Chi class tomorrow (Jun 15) from 6-7pm in the Community Center aerobics room. It’s free and all skill levels are welcome.
A memorial and headstone dedication for Trayce Sam-Smith, son of Mileena Edwards & Troy Sam-Smith, will take place on Saturday, June 20th. Meet at the Agency Cemetery at 9am and then to the Agency Longhouse for one seven. Rejoining, giveaway and a meal will follow. Everyone is welcome.
All Warm Springs residents are welcome to a FREE Wellness & Vaccine Clinic on Saturday, June 20, from 9am to noon. Free dog and cat services include vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, and treatment for minor infections. No appointments are needed. High Desert ESD STEM Hub and COCC will host a STEM Camp June 22-25 9:30-2 each day at the COCC Bend & Madras campuses. It is open to current 6th and 7th graders and transportation is provided to/from Warm Springs each day is provided. It’s free to students in Jefferson County & Culver. The 2026 Pi-Ume-Sha Treaty Day Powwow is June 26, 27 & 28 in Warm Springs. It will include the annual individual & team dance competitions, a grass dance special and many other specials. Other Pi-Ume-Sha activities include a traditional dress parade, stick game tournament, rodeo, and endurance horse race. There is no softball tournament this year. ECE is now accepting school age children ages 6 and 7, covering Kindergarten and 1st grade for the 2025-26 School year. Parents will need to download the Brightwheel app.
