Community Belonging Measurement Project in Warm Springs

A team from Oregon State University Cascades’ Campus called the Community Belonging Measurement Project are planning a focus group on the Warm Springs Reservation in August.

“So belonging is a fundamental human need, and it has been linked to a wide variety of health outcomes and quality of life.” Says Kaitlin Green, a Community Research Facilitator for Oregon Health and Human Science University. “So, our team of researchers at OSU Cascades and OHSU are working to develop a measure of belonging to identify strengths and unique experiences of communities across the region. These results can be used to inform and support programs to build more opportunities for connection into our lives.”

The measurement project will be on August 4th from 5:30 – 7:30 PM at the Old Elementary School Cafeteria on the Warm Springs Reservation. It is primarily focusing in on Warm Springs community members who are the primary caregivers of children under 18.

A meal will be provided and those who participate will get a $10 gift card. Families are welcome to attend and activities for children will be provided as well.
