During the current federal funding situation, Warm Springs IHS will continue to provide direct clinical health care services as well as referrals for contracted services that cannot be provided through IHS clinics.  They are closed today and tomorrow for the Christmas Holiday.

Its never too soon to start thinking about new year’s resolutions and if healthy eating and working out are on your list – know that the Movin’ Mountain Slimdown Challenge might help.  The 16 week Health and Fitness Improvement Challenge is celebrating its 10th anniversary.  January 17th – registration and initial assessment begins in Warm Springs and on January 18th in Madras.  Carolyn Harvey at the Jefferson County Health Department is coordinating the event.

The Madras White Buffalo Boys took the consolation match at the Seaside Holiday Tournament on Saturday.  They beat Montesano Washington 69-64.  Both the Boys and Girls teams will compete in the Summit High School Holiday tournament this week in Bend starting on Thursday.

Just a reminder if you are traveling for the Christmas holiday.  Know before you go and check out the ODOT road conditions online at https://www.tripcheck.com/.  You can also call 511 for road conditions.  As always – when traveling – especially over mountain passes plan for winter weather — chains, studded tires and blankets just in case.
