NO’s outweigh YES’s for Constitutional Amendments

The Secretarial Election on 15 proposed amendments to the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Constitution and Bylaws was yesterday, Monday April 11, 2016.  None of the proposed amendments were approved  SEC ELECTION.RESULTS.  There were 973 Tribal Members on the Registered Voter List and 559 Tribal Members (57%) voted.  This election was the first time that Tribal Members successfully petitioned to put a Constitution and Bylaw amendment before the people.  Previous amendments were advanced by Tribal Council.   The election was conducted by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Warm Springs Agency.
