The Warm Springs K through 8 Academy was on LOCKOUT late yesterday afternoon –  delaying the release of students at the end of the school day.  An incident in the neighborhood adjacent to the school resulted in the Lock Out.   A Lock Out means there is a threat or hazard outside the school building.  Students stayed inside the building and did their business as usual.  Teachers accounted for all students and awaited further instructions.  Students have been practicing with emergency drills this year so understood what was expected of them.  The school did communicate information with families yesterday through their messaging system.  If you are a K8 family and didn’t get a message – update your contact info with the school office.

• 509J schools are on schedule today with no delays for schools in Warm Springs, Madras and Metolius.
• South Wasco County Schools in Maupin are closed today.
• No delays for work in Warm Springs – Tribal Offices and Programs are operating on schedule as usual
