The Northwest Youth Corps Tribal Stewards Program still has a few positions on its Warm Springs/Burns Paiute Tribe Crew. The crew does conservation work while camping. A stipend, an Americorps education award and valuable skills. To apply, contact Angela Noah angelan@nwyouthcorps.org or call 541-654-4706. They are looking for someone to start immediately. It’s open to people 19-24 years old with a high school diploma or GED, able to lift 50 lbs., hike several mile and be on their feet 8-10 hours per day. Last October, four Madras High School seniors were selected to be a part of the 2019 Tomi City Japan Exchange Group. Elan Rios, Katherinne Parodi, Kimberly Juarez and Kiandra Smith, who is from Warm Springs, are on day six of their trip. They spent five days in Tomi City, which is Madras’ longtime Sister City. They stay with host families for the cultural exchange program. Today are in Tokyo. They will spend a total of ten days in Japan. You can see daily pictures of their trip on their Facebook page “Madras Sister City – Tomi City Japan.” Madras hosted students from Tomi City back in March.
