Community Calendar for Sunday August 25, 2019

  • Today is the final day of the Wasco County Fair in Tygh Valley. Warm Springs Tribal Members get free admission! Following church services this morning, there’s free breakfast, the youth livestock auction and a demolition derby.
  • Warm Springs Christian Fellowship meets this morning at 10 at the Senior Center.
  • The Warm Springs Baptist Church has Sunday School at 10:00 and Worship Service at 11:00 this morning.
  • The Warm Springs Food Bank is located at the Presbyterian Church. They are open from 11:30-1:30 today.  All food banks and pantries do take donations of non-perishable food or cash

 Monday 8/26

  • Here is what is on the Tribal Council Agenda tomorrow: July Financial Update, Donation Guidelines, Tribal Lawyer’s Billing, Traditional Leave, Robert & Charles Wilson Homes and a Preliminary Kahneeta Proposal.
  • There will be an agency district meeting to provide information on the 2020 enterprise revenue forecast, Kahneeta, transfer stations, hemp and any other discussion items. The meeting is tomorrow at the agency longhouse. Dinner is at 5:30 and the meeting begins at 6.
  • Community members are invited to take part in 2 Buti Yoga classes with Master Instructor Acosia Red Elk from the Umatilla Tribe. Classes will be held tomorrow from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm and Tuesday from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Both classes will be held at the Community Center Aerobics Room.

Tuesday 8/27

  • There is a Victim Impact Panel Tuesday from 6-7:30pm at the Warm Springs Baptist Church. Community members are welcome to attend and listen.

Personal Training sessions are available at the Community Center – call 541-553-3589 to learn more.

An Eight Healthy Habits class will begin on Friday, September 20th at 12:05pm in the clinic atrium. Classes will continue each Friday until November 8th. The class will consist of an eight healthy habits video course. A side salad will be provided every week.

The Annual MAC  Dash is coming up September 14th at the Madras Aquatic Center. The deadline to register is September 8th. All proceeds from the event go to In-water programs for the MAC. There is also a Middle MAC Dash for kids 11-14 and a mini-MAC Dash for children 10 and under – both kids events are free but registration is still required. If you are experiencing issues with your Warm Springs Telecom services – they ask you please call them at 541-615-0555.  You must call in for technicians to respond, troubleshoot and resolve your issue.

The Recovery Never Ends Family Conference is September 19-21 at HeHe Longhouse. All are welcome to attend at no cost. There will be speakers, support groups, camping, music, Wellbreity, sweathouse, a powwow and they will join in the Hands Across the Deschutes Bridge event on Saturday morning.
