The Warm Springs Chamber of Commerce is meeting this evening at the community center starting at 6.  Chamber board president Dustin Seyler says the Chamber of Commerce is guided by a board of directors who will do presentations this evening.  The organization is a 501c3 non profit.  Everyone is welcome to attend tonight’s meeting at 6 at the Warm Springs Community Center.

Spring Term GED class starts next Monday and will run through June 13th at the Warm Springs Education Center which is located in the old boys dorm.  Anyone interested MUST attend class next week to register.  It’s mandatory to attend one orientation for math and one for communication to register.  Essentials of Communication class is Mondays and Wednesday 1-4pm and Essentials of Math class is Tuesdays and Thursday from 1-4pm.  Remember to attend class next week to register.

The Warm Springs Future Ready Oregon Grant is available to cover class fees, books, test fees and incentive payments if you qualify.  The Future Ready grant  is a partnership with East Casdes Works – the Warm Springs Tribes’ Higher Education department, the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, WorkSource Oregon and COCC.

Warm Springs Tribal Council Election Day is Thursday April 4th and this year there will be voting from 8am to 8pm at the usual polling location – the Warm Springs Community Center as well as at the Seekseequa Fire Hall and the Simnasho Longhouse.  Tribal Voters will be electing new representation for the 28th Tribal Council.  Starting this weekend KWSO will be broadcasting interviews, recordings from forums and candidate statements by district starting this weekend.   On Saturday at 6am you can hear Agency District Candidates, Simnasho District Candidates at 7am and Seekseequa District Candidates at 7:30.  Sunday afternoon at 2 – its Agency again, at 3 Simnasho & at 3:30 Seekseequa.  The Districts Program will run again Monday evening starting at 9, Tuesday afternoon at 1 and Wednesday evening at 6pm.  You can also hear candidates online at KWSO dot org.

Madras Softball lost to Cascade yesterday 12-2 at the Redmond Tournament

The Madras JV Softball team is hosting a tournament tomorrow.  The Lady JV Buffs will play at 10 tomorrow against the Bend JV team  and again at 4 against the Redmond JV.  Other JV programs playing in the one day tourney are Mt View, Crook County and LaPine.
