The Branch of Public Utilities continues to work on repairs at the George Street station. As work continues there, residents can continue to expect low water pressure and potential water outages. So, it is very important that water conservation efforts continue.  The Warm Springs Early Childhood Education Center will not open this week as anticipated. Due to low water pressure and potential water outages ECE will remain closed to children. The boil water order for the Agency Water System remains in effect. The water distribution station is open at the old elementary school library Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 6pm. There is a shower available there as well.

Tribal Council Committees will be sworn in at 10am this morning at the Agency Longhouse.  Committee members serve three year terms.

Two people were shot on southeast 16 Street in Madras Sunday morning and a suspect was apprehended a short time later, KTVZ reports.  “Upon arrival, officers learned that two subjects had been shot and the suspect had fled the scene,” the press release stated. Madras police called in assistance from Oregon State Police, Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies and the Central Oregon Major Crime Team. Anyone with information that could help in the investigation was asked to contact Detective Sgt. Steve Webb at 541-475-2424.

The Warm Springs Health & Wellness Center is having a sports physicals clinic on Wednesday this week. It will be done on a first come first serve basis. Parents or guardians need to accompany kids. Start checking in at 12:45pm.

Tribal youth, ages 14-18 are invited to apply to participate on two outdoor experiences in August. There is a backpacking course to be held August 26-28 on the Warm Springs Reservation or a Deschutes Rafting Course August 26-30.  Before the youth depart for the courses, a joint community gathering will be held for all participants on August 25th. There is no cost to tribal youth participants. Youth need to register by August 16th.
