Fall sports get underway at the Warm Springs K-8 Academy this week with Volleyball and Football for 7th and 8th grade students and Cross County for 6th thru 8th grade students.  Remember student athletes need a current physical form, read and acknowledge the Athletic handbook and athletic expectations.    Family Advocate Tony Cortazar.

Football will host Lapine next Tuesday at 4:30, Volley Ball will play next Tuesday at Culver and Cross Country’s first outing in a week from tomorrow at Juniper Hills Park in Madras.

In other K8 school news – Picture Packets will be going home with students tomorrow.  School Picture day is one week away on September 18th.

Warm Springs Nation Little League will be electing new board members at a meeting on Monday September 23rd.  Board Positions include: President, Vice President, Player agents for both Softball and Baseball, Secretary, Treasurer, Safety Officer, Information Officer, Concessions Manager & Umpire in Chief.  Background checks are done on all Little League Volunteers.  The location of the meeting has yet to be determined. The meeting is open to all community members.

The Central Oregon Community College board of directors will hold its monthly meeting this evening at the Madras campus in the building’s Community Room.  The meeting starts at 5:45.  The board will attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony, open to the public, at 4:30 p.m. for the Madras campus’s new electric vehicle charging station.   The board’s agenda will include reports on the Madras campus and partnership with Deer Ridge Correctional Institution, as well as an update on the college’s accreditation.
