Icy Roads Cancel Work in Warm Springs

Continuing icy roads from freezing rain and freezing fog have led to the cancellation of work for Tuesday December 2, 2014, for the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, Warm Springs BIA offices and the Indian Health Services Clinic.

The Jefferson County 509-J school district cancelled classes today for schools in Warm Springs, Madras and Metolius.  All school activities are also cancelled.

The forecast is for freezing rain and patchy freezing fog to continue until around 11 am this morning.  We might see some partly sunny skies this afternoon but temperatures will remain around 30 degrees.  Tonight and tomorrow morning are expected to be a repeat of today.

Drive carefully until road conditions improve.  Reduce speeds and don’t brake suddenly.  Cinder has been put down at intersections, at turns and on hills to help with traction.  Stay Safe!
