More Snow in 2017

There is no work in Warm Springs today (Wednesday January 11, 2017) for the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs and Bureau of Indian Affairs, due to the recent snow storm.  The Indian Health Service Clinic will be open 1-5pm with limited services in Medical, Pharmacy & Lab.

There is no school for the Jefferson County 509-J and South Wasco County School Districts.

A winter storm warning remains in effect until 10am Wednesday Morning.  There is a chance of snow throughout the day.  Today’s high temperature 18-23°.  Slight chance of snow tonight and much colder with a low of 4° below zero to 1° above.  Partly Cloudy tomorrow with temperatures in the teens.

With below zero temperatures in the forecast – residents are reminded to keep a trickle of water running in your faucet especially overnight to keep pipes from freezing.  It’s also a good idea to open up your sinks’ cabinet doors to allow warmer air to reach pipes.

Stay home unless you absolutely have to go out. This prevents accidents and helps emergency first responders provide best service. Reschedule non-essential appointments.

Check on neighbors, elderly and folks who are disabled or have mobility issues.  Offer assistance as you can.

The Warming Shelter at the Agency Longhouse continues to operate and is open to anyone in need of a warm place to stay.  They are offering meals three times a day.  Donations of food, blankets, socks & clothing are being accepted.  The volunteers operating the shelter are thankful for everyone’s contributions over the past week.
