Warm Springs Tribal Member Lillian Pitt, who’s Art Works have been exhibited regionally, nationally and internationally, will have an exhibit opening at the White Lotus Gallery in Eugene on October 19th. Pitt has received numerous awards and distinctions, including the 2007 Earle A Chiles Award for Lifetime Achievement. The exhibit, titled Gifts from My Ancestors, will run from October 19th to December 7th.

 

The Native American Music Awards are November 2nd in Niagara Falls New York.  Voting is now open online.  Local Musicians nominated for awards are: Kalliah Jackson who sings with Corey Rae White on “Dimmer” which is in the Best Independent Recording by a New Artist Single Release category.  Blue Flamez for Best Rap Hip Hop Music Video for “Stand Up.”  And Bigg B featuring N8 is up for Best Music Video Recording for “Deep End”.  You can check out nominations online at nativeamericanmusicawards.com where there is also a link to voting.

 

In Local Sports: Madras Volleyball fell short on the road in Molalla, losing 3 matches-none. In Soccer, the Lady Buffs dropped their contest to visiting Molalla 3-0 last night and the Buff Boys came up just short in Molalla, losing 3-2. Tonight, White Buffalo Football is on the Road to Yamhill-Carlton, looking to keep the Stampede going after last week’s 39-12 victory. They face an undefeated team in the Tigers but look to start a Multi game winning streak tonight at 7pm.
