Community Calendar for Friday April 19, 2019

  • Warm Springs CPS Center is seeking donations of DVD’s for kids to watch. They need to be age appropriate – nothing rated-R. Donations can be dropped off at the CPS front office.
  • A senior citizen fitness class is held Monday, Wednesday & Friday at 10:45 at the Senior Building. After class, participants can eat brunch. Today’s meal will be shepherd’s pie and fruit.
  • Head Start classes are having their egg hunts today. Early Head Start group socialization time today is 1-3:00 at the Library.
  • There is a Behavior Health Walk-In Clinic today – appointments are available between 1 and 5pm. The Medical Social Workers at the clinic can help with screenings, assessments, crisis intervention and many other things for children, adolescents and adults.
  • The Jefferson County Community Film Center will show Green Book, rated PG-13, for its Friday night movie. It’s a free event at 7:30pm in the Rodriguez Annex, next to the library in Madras.

Saturday 4/20

  • Easter Egg Hunts in Warm Springs will be held tomorrow at 10am. Kindergarten age youth and older will hunt on the lawn in front of the Behavioral Health Center. Pre-K will be in the fenced area of the Family Resource Center.
  • The city of Metolius will hold an Easter egg hunt tomorrow at 10am at Metolius City Park. Culver’s annual Easter egg hunt is also tomorrow at the Culver Veterans Memorial Park at 1pm. And the Madras Elks Lodge’s annual Easter egg hunt is on Sunday at 1pm at Sahalee Park in madras.

Sunday 4/21

  • Easter Sunday Services will held at The Door Christian Fellowship Church, 2315 Hollywood Blvd, in Warm Springs. Services begin at 11am. For information contact Pastor Desmond Wheeler 541-419-7521.

Youth ages 16–18 are being recruited to work on the Central Oregon Youth Conservation Corps Crews this summer.  They positions to fill in Warm Springs, Madras, Prineville, and several other locations. They are looking for crew members and adult crew leaders. Get details and apply at heartoforegon.org. The deadline is May 1st.

There is going to be a Student Summer Work Program for high school students and college students in Warm Springs. Applications need to be submitted to the Work Experience Development Department at Education Building. Native American students ages 14-24, who are enrolled in traditional and alternative high school are eligible – the deadline is May 23rd. College students of any age may apply and they have until June 27th. Contact the WEDD office at 541-553-3324 for details.
