Adoption Election Does Not Get Enough Voters

A total of 987 votes were cast in the Warm Springs Adoption Election on Monday, June 13th.  That number fell far short of the necessary 1,663 votes needed.  Adoption Elections require a 50 percent voter turnout for the Election results to be valid.  Warm Springs Tribal Council certified the election results this morning and deemed the election invalid due to that requirement not being met.  Most all af the 160 individuals on the ballot got more yes votes than no votes.   831 votes were cast in person and there was 154 absentee ballots with 2 ballots rejected.
