Tribal Refendum Lacked Turnout

The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs held a Referendum Vote on Friday March 15, 2019 asking Tribal Member voters whether or not to add the 1980 census to the list of baseline census years for determining enrollment.   The question was:

“SHOULD RESOLUTION 12,157 DETERMINING THE BLOOD QUANTUM FOR THE PURPOSE OF AUTOMATIC ENROLLMENT BE APPROVED?”

There were:

  • 537 Yes votes
  • 180 No votes

A total of 717 people voted.

The Referendum vote required a 1/3 voter turnout (1155 votes) to be valid and that participation mark was not met.
